1) See the Best Liars of Yellow Springs!
On Thursday, July 5th local storytelling professionals and amateurs will compete for the prize of a Ham Sandwich and a golden shovel in the first ever Yellow Springs Liars Contest. Contestants include Brother Wolf, Harold Wright, Lisa Homes, Carolion Grailbear, Henry Cruise and Shane Dickey.

The contest is scheduled to start at 6:45 pm on Thursday, July 5thh at the Antioch Amphitheater, 920 Corry St and end about 7:45pm PM. Ticket price is $7 and includes admission to Sense & Sensibility as described in 4) below.

2) You too can be the Best Liars of Yellow Springs!
Think you can do a better lie! There are two spots still avliable for a tall teller!
This contest is open to all comers profesional or amateur, but only the first eight people get to telli. If you think you can win – only eight people will be able to compete so call Eric Wolf at 937 767-8696 All entries must be no more than six minutes long.

Prizes include a ham sandwich and other goodies from area business.

3) Signup your children to tell stories on stage!
Got a grandchild or just a child who is age 10 to 17 and you think tells a good story? Here is their chance to become a pro!

Storytelling workshops to be offered from 1-4pm on Sunday 8th. Workshop is limited to 10 participants. Workshop cost is $25

Each child will get up to five minutes to tell a story during the pre-show performance from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm on Sunday of Sense & Sensibility.

4) Get two shows for the price of one!

When you pay for a ticket to the Liars contest on Thursday nights or the Performance of children storytelling on Sunday nights you are entitled to stay for a Yellow Springs Kid Play House Theater Production of Sense and sense ability afterward.

The YS Kids Playhouse presents Sense and Sensibility, a new musical adaptation of Jane
Austin’s classic novel as part of their Summer Theater Arts Immersion experience for youth ages 8-18. Adapted and directed by John Fleming, this original musical features composer Tucki Bailey, and video design with media artist Brian Springer.
Performances take place Thursdays-Sundays, June 29-July 9 at 8pm in the Antioch Amphitheater in Yellow Springs.

Sense and Sensibility is a new multimedia musical presenting coming of age across cultures. Taking a unique approach to outsourcing, Chilean teens on tape interact with live action in the Amphitheater to present a fun and fascinating look at flirting, dating, and manners on both side of the border.
